About us

Specialising in reclaimed original building materials, Symonds Salvage is a treasure trove of characterful pieces with a patina developed over centuries.

We are a family business originally set up by two brothers, Symonds Salvage has stood on the same site in Bethersden for almost 40 years.

“Salvage is one of the oldest and best forms of recycling... People need good quality reclaimed materials for period properties that will match with existing products, so we aim to stock a large quantity of salvaged items and variations of different historical designs and styles” – Matthew Symonds

As one of the largest architectural salvage yards in the country, you will find a wide range of reclaimed building materials, including bricks, tiles, stone, slate and quarry tiles, alongside cast-iron fireplaces, radiators, baths and sanitaryware, garden furniture and statuary, as well as decorative items and collectibles.

We are in such a great location in Kent, the Garden of England, and exploring the yard is like stepping back 100 years.  You’ll never know what you’ll find – it really is a treasure trove.

We have featured on the Antiques Roadtrip and also supplied many items over the years to TV and Film including Call the Midwife, 101 Dalmatian’s & The Tunnel.
